EMS System Requirements - 221

This topic lists the system requirements for EMS products.

ClosedOpen port 1433 and 80

To use EMS products successfully, the ports 1433 and 80 need to be open on your computer.

To open port 1433:

  1. In the SQL Configuration Manager, navigate to SQL Network Configuration > Protocols for MSSQLSERVER.
  2. Change the Status of Named Pipes and TCP/IP protocols to Enabled.

  3. Right-click TCP/IP.

    The TCP/IP Properties window opens.

  4. Verify the value for TCP Port is 1433.
  5. Click OK.

To open port 80:

  1. Access the Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Reporting Services Configuration Manager.
  2. Click Web Service URL.

  3. In TCP Port, enter 80.

    This is usually the end users' machine.

  4. Click Apply.

EMS Software only supports the latest Service Pack or Continuous Update for the following SQL Server versions.

Minimum System Requirements

  • Processor – 2.0 GHz and 4 cores or faster
  • Memory – 8 GB or more*
  • Hard-Disk Space – 2 separate physical drives of at least 6 GB; one for data, and the other for transaction logs (SCSI drives w/9ms access or better and RAID strategy for fault tolerance recommended)
  • Network Card – 100 / 1000 Mbps Ethernet, switched

*Specs apply for up to 100 concurrent users. Increased specs are required for 100+ concurrent users.

Install the ASP.NET Core

As of Update 28, users are required to deploy EMS Platform Services with ASP.NET Core, instead of the HTTP Platform Handler.

  1. Choose .NET Core version 2.2.6 (EMS Update 44.1.28+) or .NET Core version 3.1 (EMS Update 2020+)
  2. In the right-hand “Run apps - Runtime” column, select Windows Hosting Bundle

    ASP.Net handler is a part of the Runtime and Hosting Bundle.
